looks great, you may have already told us but who made the sump&design of it?

Sump was designed by Griss and built by Geo

Is the bulkhead an 1 1/2" ?

I contacted reeflow prior to setup and asked them what is the best way to hook up the pump and they suggested having a 2" line with a 2" bulkhead. I'm not sure if it would help to have a 1 1/2" bulkhead and then having a 2" line. You still can only get so much flow from the 1 1/2" bulkhead. That could be what is holding you up from getting the flow/problems taken care of.

just a thought

Everything is 2" until it gets to the pump where it goes down to a 1 1/2" intake. Bulkead and pipe is 2".

I redid the piping to take out the 90 degree turns and increase pipe size, no change in bubble output :(

who has the acrlyic access to make such pumps.

You mean sumps??? I wouldnt use an acrylic pump I dont think, although Im sure it would look cool :D

Griss knows Geo very well, and Geo made this for him as a favor, he usually doesnt make them. I know he made Nanook a sump as well, but I dont think us normal people would be able to get him to do one, and you would need to travel to Ohio to pick it up.

That thing I figure holds about 150-200 gallons.

Enough pics of equipment..........

Here are a few. Just got the coral, I dont know if it will keep the color (not holding my breath) but it freakin glows.

Here are the sailfins I picked up today also

IME Sailfin tangs have more of a 'tude than say a yellow tang for example. I do not think you will have all 4 of those being nice to each other by the time they are young adults. I would expect for them to start killing each other off once they get acclimated and start growing.

Just me experience.

I have heard both sides, that if you get them young enough they will school and be tolorant

Thats where I am hoping the large tank comes into play.

When have you had 4 sailfins steve?

Anyways, I sure hope they do fine. Every fish is hit and miss right? I think they'd be awesome if they stay schooled. I mean they do have a lot of water to swim in.

Get some less blue pics of the coral. The one in the sailfin pic looks sweet.

Ouch, im going to side with steve on this one( & this is coming from a guy with 10 tangs in the same tank:D ) No way, clark will be down to 1 by june, salfins are way to agressive, mine decided to pick a fight with the schoal tang, & he lost:smokin:

Jeff -
I never said I kept 4 in one tank.
I have tried two at once in a 265g.
By the time they got used to eating nori one of them killed the other.
This is with nearly ANY tang in the same genus not alone the same species.

Kurt is lucky cause he has a tang in nearly everydamn genus !!!!
Even with the Tangs in the same genus in his tank their species differ greatly.

Those tangs get huge!!! There are two really BIG sailfin tangs at Inland Aquatics...they are about the size of dinner plates...they might be a mated pair...however, four identical tangs in only a 4ftx6ft tank is asking for trouble....but, time will tell and hopefully you will let us know how it turns out to inform the other conscientious marine aquarists looking for our wisdom and experience.

So how do people have yellows schooling in their tank? If this holds true it upsets me that Jan at Clayton would tell me there wouldnt be any problem if you get them this age and let them mature together.

Not sure there is anyway to get them out right now

This is my experience too.

If introduced all as juveniles they will develop a sense of territory together and will not fight.

I have kept some combinations before that I was told was impossible. It seems to be all in how they are introduced to the tank, and when.
