Here it is at last, my new tank build thread!!!

quick updates

First I got a new cleaning magnet, the magnavore 10 the largest made. This thing is a MONSTER with power. It has about 2" of styrofoam between the halves and I can barely get them apart. The warning on the box I read to my daugher and she is now scared of the thing (GOOD!). I guess if you order the biggest magnet you get a pen LOL

I also received my reflectors for my acentics

And here is the tank almost filled

WOW!
I am afraid of that magnet! What a beast.
But now that I think about it, what a wonderful torture device. :)

Sounds like it is time to upgrade to a higher producing RODI unit...no way would I rely on something that only makes 75-100gpd with that big tanks system. You are going to need water at some point....might as well get a 180-200gpd unit to avoid a future catastrophe.

Just my take though;)

Im sorry, I only listen to people with water in their tanks :D

Seriously though, why would I need a higher producing unit? If I keep 150 gallons on hand at all times, what type of emergency would require me to make an additonal 100 gallons in a day?

Have you installed those VHO reflectors yet? I'm curious to see how well they work. I just installed two VHO actinics on my tank and a lot of blue light is coming from the top of the canopy.

I think this is just a good insurance policy in case you have a need someday to do large water changes for some kind of catastrophe...they happen all to often and it is best to have the capability to make water fast if needed....or not.

Perhaps I am too cautious and that is why my tanks are still dry:D

I'm hitting the hay! G'night and have fun filling that bad boy.

I have the following, but you can devise something for less money just not as good:

Ultimate DI:

http://www.spectrapure.com/St_deion_p3.htm

CSP 180:

http://www.spectrapure.com/St_line_p4.htm

and a 0.35 micron pleated prefilter before the CSP 180...this extends the life of the carbon and sediment prefilters 3-4x as long.

WOW your not kidding that is the ultimate system. Maybe in the future

I think if I had a water need that great, I would be making trips of a LFS with my 25 gallon containers and buying it.

Hopefully, when you really need it, they have enough.

You cant have a backup for every contingency.

But tonight, the pumps turned on and the salt went in!!!!

Still have microbubbles pretty bad, have sealed every joint in electric tape, going to keep fiddling with it

But this strange weird trip continues, hopefulle will have salt level correct in the next few days, then comes rock

More to come!
