hermit crab+return pump= disaster

So a hermit somehow made it to the inlet to my return pump and got sucked in there and my whole impeller shredded there is not 1 tooth left on this thing (iwaki md40xlt) I have 2 questions for u guys.
1. how long could i go without return pump.
2. if you have had to replace an impeller on an iwaki where did you go and what was the shipping time?

As long as you have good circulation in the main tank, you should be fine, not sure about a supplier for the impellar though
