Hermits climing up the silicone seals...

Has anyone else ever seen their hermit crabs climbing up the silicone seals in the corner of their tank?

It's not something I see everyday, but I have noticed it twice now and I am worried that the crabs could eventually damage the seal and cause a slow leak.

I've seen mine do it and never though twice about it. My hermits are small and i wouldn't think they could do any damage. Maybe a big one but a small one isn't going to hurt the seal. IMO

Yeah, Mine have done the same thing numerous times, I really don't think they could do any damage. Kinda fun to watch em tumble off though.

Never seen mine do it but that does not mean they have not tried. I would not worry about it though.

Mine do it, and wind up in my overflow box. I've also seen mine scaling the actual overflow box, and the glass in the back of the tank where enough algae has grown for them to climb on.

They don't do any damage. Mine have been doing it for a while now. Its funny to watch because they can only make it about half way before they get tired and fall.

Yeah it's pretty funny watching them try sooo hard, only to fall off.

Thanks for chiming in everyone, I'm glad it's nothing to worry about!

As I'm reading this I'm hearing "it's raining crabs" to the tune of It's Raining Men. Mine do it all of the time and my boys and I love watching them as they fall and do it all over again. Mine climb the powerhead cords as well.
