He's alive!

So on may 15th, my sixline wrasse vanished, after about a month of tearing the tank apart looking for him, i gave up and accepted that he died. To my delight, while fixing my ato today, i see my sixline swimming around in my aio sump! Ido where he was hiding but I was really glad to see him even though he was the devil fish of my tank, he looked healthy but very skinny so I gave him some pellets which he gobbled up, this fish is a survivor, I am planning a tank upgrade and although he wasn't part of the plan , I will make it work. My plan is to turn the refugium into a home for him so he can have the whole sump to himself. My plan for copepods is to get a critter keeper and fill it with dry rock rubble so pods can breed without him eating all of them. What do you all think of this?

I have a similar story but mine escaped the lfs tank into the sump. The guy had been trying to catch it for months and said if I could I could have it, a few minutes later and I was on my way home with it (benefit of running a lfs in the past is you get good with a net). It now lives in one of my macro algae tanks and from being almost see through when it came you could now put a saddle on it. So I say your plan is great.

They certainly are survivors and after all this I just couldn't part with him, he can live a long happy life in the refugium

I know people have problems with them but in the right setting they are amazing. I'm still considering setting up a nano sps reef with one as the only fish.

To many people this would be sad news bc 6 lines are known to be jerks and it can be hard to catch them without a trap. JK LOL

I once had a naso tang living in my overflow for 6 months, without me knowing it. He is now fat and happy back in the display.

Currently, I have 2 clowns in one overflow, a small yellow tang in the other overflow, and a royal gramma in my sump. Can't catch any of them to return to the display tank.

Lol they can be jerks that's why in my next tank he will live in the fuge, in just glad I didn't kill him

I am happy you found your wrasse safe and sound! Your plan sounds good for the lucky little fish.

I lost one too, and the poor thing ended up in the filter sock... and died because we didn't know it was there and rinsed the sock. It had been in there for a month!!! Rough way to go... :sad2: We now check ALL filter socks and all overflows before doing anything to them!

:lolspin: I have a clownfish that has for the third time jumped into one of the overflows! I think it is time for him to try a different tank... I am tired of fishing him out.
