Look at its mouth. If it has white lines around it than that is a sure sign its a bta.

So I can't get a clean shot of the mouth, but I can see white lines around its mouth. So bta I guess.

My other RBTA has split and the parent has great bubbles but the child has straight tenticles. I guess its all shapes and sizes.

Nice, yes I saw his mag when I was there. I wanted that as well but I already have a pair of picassos and didnt want to seperate his from their host nor have 2 pairs in my 60.

Yes his Mag is pretty impressive. Most people would never think he could keep a Mag healthy in a 20 gal but it has done extremely well.

So I was finally able to get a pic of his mouth

yes it did. the smaller offspring was there but I wanted this one.
how can you tell?

The mouth is off center and the tentacles close to it are new. You can make out the scar down the foot in the pic too.

Heteractus magnifica without any shadow of a doubt. That is a ritteri/magnificent anemone. Not a bubble tip nor anything else other than H. Mag. If that looks just like your bubble tip then you own a magnificent as well, may have been sold under the pretence that it was a bubble tip however the seller was also incorrect. I have 3 of them personally and also just sold 2 bubble tips one rose and one green and that my friend is not entacmae quadricolor at all. No offense intended by any means, I however am a huge anemone fan so much in fact that the LFS's have labled me "The anemone guy". Fair warning that puppy is going to grow up to 3'.

Edit just saw the date, feeling more salty then my tank is right now.

i saw so many names of folks i miss seeing regularly on this forum and was excited they were still around lurking....then noticed the date on their posts. le sigh.

but by all means, this is certainly a e. quadricolor. there is just absolutely nothing about that anemone that suggests h. magnifica.
