Got quotes for customs from Miracles (toronto), C2C (NJ), Reef Savvy (FL) and am kinda shocked at the price for a custom 75 or 90. That said, I am not sure I am comfortable letting a local glass shop hack away at a not so special Aqueon or Deep Blue that is built to bare min specs to begin with....

I don't think I'd be comfortable with anybody replacing a panel or even just re-sealing anything over a 20 gallon. Acrylic is a little different. I've patched my sump before, but when it comes to the display, I think I'd try to replace it.

Have been contemplating a total system rebuild due to the ongoing phosphate issues...
So if I am going to rip it apart for new rock... then I might as well upgrade the tank to a starfire with an external overflow. My plan was to to go bigger (maybe 90 or 100 tall), but the warden smacked me down...

Talked to Steve... very nice guy. He does customs but no routing or eurobraces.
The quotes I did get back are in the $1000+ range for what I want. Pretty hard to wrap my head around for a custom 75 or 90.

Have you considered going plywood? Just a thought but you could use a 1/8" coating of epoxy- use glass panels only where you will have a viewing area (I always thought having 4 sided glass was pointless unless you are viewing from ALL 4 side) PLUS you will have the ease of drilling ANYWHERE you want without worrying about structural issues.
Just a thought- PLUS you can use the advantage of overall integrity of the aquarium as an excuse to go crazy with it. lol
