Hey Guys,

I live in Blacksburg and I'm trying to start my 1st reef tank and was trying figure out where I can purchase equipment and/or livestock down this way. I've searched online and I can't find a single fish store down here.

daleville is a stretch from blacksburg, about an hour. ultimate is nice though.

There is also pet galaxy in Roanoke in the same center that pet city used to be. I've never been but I hear they have saltwater stuff.

Ultimate Aquarium is nice, I do drive up from time to time especially if I'm in Roanoke anyway.

I really do not know about bburg but with the pet stores having limited stock and being a good drive for me as well. I get a lot of my stuff equipment and stock from other people here on RC. In fact I am supposed to be getting an aquapod setup today from someone in bburg in exchange for cash and corals.

I still like hitting the stores now and then but a lot of times they do not have what I am looking for but then I usually find something I was not looking for that catches my eye.

If you are looking for stuff I would suggest posting what you are looking for and see who chimes in. you may have to drive a ways but you can usually hit up several people in one trip.

x2 what Jorge said. Locals have far better stuff to trade than lffs.
I haven't been to UA or C&P in a while but the last time I was at either store the quality and variety of stock was not much to talk about or even consider coming back.
I did make it out to Pet Galaxy this past week and I know that they are a new store but first impressions do make a difference. A mix of pet supplies and a lot of stock. As far as saltwater livestock very limited and the few fish that they had for sale were in good condition but a lttle pricey.
My 2c. Like others here on RC I have been in this hobby for many years and do not attest to know everything but I do know a little of something about salt water husbandry.

for live stock alot of people in the area have a vast collection of corals just post what u are looking for
