I have a non reef lens question? I have a sony alpha 100 DSLR and I took alot of pictures of my kid's swim team. the high school pool's lighting is terible, dark. what I want to know is if this lens would be a good choice for a zoom and poor lighting and action? it also says it is good for less than 3 feet so it may work for the tank as well. what are your thoughts and/or suggestions?
I know its its expensive so I would be happy with a cheaper suggestion but hey its only money.

thanks I thought of that one also, the other is cheaper and I'm aloud pool side , the added zoom would be nice but not as importent as poor lighting capabilities

I don't know Sony as I shoot Canon, but from what I can see that looks like a fantastic lens for dark areas, and I like the focal length as well.

thanks my wife takes all the sports photos and she deserves a nice lens. all the football pic turn out great but we have issues with our schools pool.
