Hey Richard, now what will the snails eat?

Had the second half w/ cleanup crew for just over a week now - everything looking great.
The snails really went to town, my powerheads went from fuzzy green to looking like they had been scrubbed! They have just about cleaned the back wall clean.
My question is, do I need to supplement feed them now that they have eaten all the algae? or do they go dormant
Also, the cukes are showing no interest in the substrate, they like to hang out on the back wall or rocks. Normal?
Man, those things are ugly! LOL

Just my 2cents:
i would ait on additive till your tank ages a bit. the algea is always growing in your tank its just that now they are keeping it under control but if you feel the need you can place a peice of prepared seaweed in your algea cleaning magnet for a nice treat for the snail. They love it, usually my tang is too slow to get much before they devour it.

I don't know if anyone showed you, but if you fold up your seaweed before you either wedge it between glass and magnet, or before clipping it into a feeder clip, the seaweed won't fall apart as quickly in the water.

Beautiful picture! If you get a tang (I haven't checked your tank size), your green macroalgae on the left center will disappear in a couple of days. I can't make out details, but I would guess that it's a caulerpa something-or-other. The cucumbers' IQ verges on negative. They'll eventually get hungry and start roaming the substrate. Don't bother feeding your inverts; they'll go after leftover fish food.

CeCe, if you don't have any fish yet your critters will defiitely appreciate some food now and then.
I'm at six months with my TBS package and I still don't have any fish yet. Actually there's enough interesting stuff in the tank that I haven't really worried much about fish yet. I feed the inverts a variety of stuff ranging from cocktail shrimp (raw, of course) to silversides and mysis. It seems to keep the peppermint shrimp from picking on my corals and anemone.

hdtran, it's only a 75 so no tangs...sigh (well,maybe a small yellow on down the line)
The macro is Halimeda so hopefully it would be a little harder to chew..... I bought that chunk but on the rock I've got some grape caulerpa and another type I haven't ID yet. The calcareous alga must like my tank as they are growing at about 1/4 or more a day. Amazing.
PRC - tanks just over a month old so no fish yet but I agree with you - there is so much stuff popping up I have my nose pressed to the tank most of the time I'm home. I've been feeding about three times a week - mysis and flake. Love watching those serpent stars eat.
My condy went traveling about a week ago - not a clue where he is. Water parameters are excellent so he's still alive.

I think that 55 long (4 ft long) is considered the minimum size for a small yellow tang, so a 75 should work.

My wife doesn't really like the serpent stars, but it is amazing how big their bellies get!
