With the Pan World 250PS being rated for 46' of head, I would not worry about 3 or 4 feet more to mount it down low.
This pump still pushes 1250gph ( of it's rated 1950gph) at 29' of head.
At 8' you should only lose 100gph.

Well, all is plumbed. The PW250 kicks the hammerhead's a$$! I thought the skimmer was good before, but now... WOW!

Yeah, the neck on the skimmer is about 2ft tall and I have the water level about 3 inches lower than the neck and it is pushing bubbles all the way up with no issues.

It is a monster. So who wants to buy my old ones?
