Read WaterKeepers stuff in "Newbies" FOR SURE ! ! He presents information in a particularly learnable format, without "dumming it down".

Yeah, that's what you think-- Dummy.

:D

Lots of good advice above, so my only addition to this will be to take things slowly. Always look for opportunities to learn in the threads here and if you find a Local Fish Store (LFS) that you can trust or your local reef club, that will be a great source as well.

The Conscientious Marine Aquarist is a book that you should consider owning. I hope others will suggest a couple more. I do hope you come to enjoy this hobby, and I believe that as you gain knowledge and see success (and a few failures) as you do it yourself, you will come to that point.

Good luck.

I bought this book before I bought anything else and read it twice. It's a very easy read and great for basic knowledge you need. It's not a long book at all and it costs about $15.

I recommend you get it first, read it, may take you a day to read and then live on this site, ask tons of other questions, and accept the fact that you'll be learning for the rest of your life. (I thrive on this):D

For me, as much work, time and money as I spend on this hobby, I think it needs to be a labor of love or you interest will be short lived. JMO.

Know this...You can do it.
