Hi, I'm new!

pmike25
I grew up in East Northport, and later lived out east in Center Moriches. Had a series of Trans Am's both Pro Street and track over the years messed around on the street on Deer Park Route 231. I was responsible for bringing Hot Rod and Car Craft magazines out to long Island to do articles on cruising and Street racing. I also used to hang at burger king on Hempstead turnpike, the Bellmore train station, and Nathans in Bellmore.

I know Brian and wally pretty wellfrom IHRA Prostock. The auto PM class is lots of fun and lots of work. I'm sure we will meet up sometime. I'm get your way pretty often with my business. I'm sure I can answer any questions or help you guys if you need any chassis tuning help.

HOLY CR*P...231 , train station and everything you mentioned I usta hang out there!!! hempsted tpk was another place we raced as well as Edision Ave where the BIG boys raced for BIG $$$$$$, there was also a place we hung out in Baldwin!!! That brought some SERIOUS memories, we usta race in a 82 capri and a 89 Stang. Than a good buddy of mine had a AWSOME 69 Camero with a big block that usta go up there all the time to the train station. COOL man, I miss L.I. to an extent!!!

John, ours was the first 2005+ body that Wally built. He's a great guy..very honest.

Here's a pic...it's really big, so I didn't want to imbed it.

That think is SICK, I got the pleasure of hearing that beast!!! her hubby was nice enough to start that up when I was there! How is that car running Amanda? Are you running that this wekend?

Yeah..#2 qualifier but we bent a valve and couldn't find another one. Had everything else to fix it..it broke 2 rocker arms, bent a pushrod..had all that to replace, but no valve. Ran 4.22 @ 170.

Ohh man, sorry to hear that. Did you run the Cobra there also?

Boy this thread really got OT'd!!!

WELCOME TO RC AMANDA!!! LOL

LOL

No, there wasn't a class for the Cobra. They were thinking about adding it, but it was the last points race for that class at a track down south, so they wouldn't have had the car count..

Right...Ok so on track now!!

What all do you need to get a tank going, and did you sell off all the FW stuff yet??

Thanks, DAK!

Mike, I have my pair of angels, pair of longfin rosy barbs, and 4-5 hy511 tetras..a couple of plants, and the two filters that I got with the tank. I'm probably keeping all of that. I'm possibly buying a 60g hex tomorrow and putting them in there. Maybe a 90g corner, instead, if it'll fit..which I don't think it will.

All I need still is a 3 chamber sump, ro/di, and return pump. I have a skimmer, koralia powerheads, and I'm going to get the live sand and rock from gulf-view.com. That'll get me up and running.

Ahh ok. I was mainly between Leeboy Racing and the "beer tent" , across from those virtual drag car things...

I only went for the free beads and glow sticks! hahah

thanks

thanks

i wish i would have gone to the races. your post brought back some great time. i raced div 2 in late 90's i havent been back since i stopped racing. i went back to nhra old results. i can not wait til my 14month old son can drive a junior dragster.

Amanda, if you are new to reefing, get one of the local bums to help you start it right. Nate (m3) isn't far away. He's got a good idea about how to do it, if you need help. He does have bad hair, so don't let that scare you away!!!
