High efficiency Ca Reactor mod

They may feed the CA reactor from the supply side of the chiller due to there being some pressure available near the pump. However, the output of the chiller should be open to the sump and therefore no pressure to feed the reactor.

If you feed it by teeing off of the input side of the chiller, there will be no problems.

I've found it very important to run a one way check valve on my DIY CA reactor (Explanation and design here) . If you don't have an inline check valve with incoming H20, it is very difficult to maintain a constant bubble rate due to fluctuating internal pressures within the reactor chambers. Once you run the check valve, the bubble count can be set, and it will remain fairly constant, not requiring constant adjustment. It is interesting how far reactors have come in the last few years, it's interesting that the author of this thread was able to get the bubble count down to 30-45 bubbles/minute. I found that my bubble count runs at 8-10 bpm to maintain a 6.7 ph in the primary reactor in a dual chamber recirc reactor. I'm happy with it....I haven't replaced the CO2 in a 10# bottle in 18 months so far.:D
 
Maybe the feeding of a ca-reactor from a chiller has something to do with the increase of solubility of co2 en 02 at lower temperatures.

Just my 2 cents. :rollface:
