High Nutrient Macro Algae/Sea Grass Reef

Can’t wait to see the pics.
Yes, I am anxious to post pics but the new fish are still very skittish. I was happy to see the little fairy wrasse start eating from day 1. The pajama cardinals are looking more chill but I haven't seen them eat yet. The firefish would be more chill if the ocellaris clown was more welcoming. If that doesn't change Ozzie may find himself in the sump in time out!

Here is a promised Pic. I moved some macroalgae around to make the left back corner of the tank more crowded to cut down passage ways for the tomini and ocellaris clown who were both bullying the new fish. I could only 3 of the 5 new fish, one cardinal, half a firefish and the female fairy wrasse.

Today I noticed that my tomini tang was relentlessly chasing the fairy wrasse. The wrasse has been holding up well but she can't keep having to live like that. So I practically tore the tank apart but I caught Tommy the tomini. I plan to rehome Tommy, hopefully to a friend's tank but if not then to a lfs. He is a beautiful fish but he was disrupting the whole tank.

Sorry to hear about that Dawn.
Yeah, its crappy George. I have had Tommy for about 4 years and he is such a sleek beautiful fish. He usually is almost always chill with new fish but the one other time he harassed a fish, he did it til he killed that fish! I was not going to let that happen again. I am happy to report that a friend who wholesales coral in his basement is taking him, so he will get good care. There is consolation in that.

Well folks, I know that I have been MIA. My mom passed unexpectedly before Thanksgiving and it's been a whirlwind ever since. She lived an hour and a half away from us, she had 4 BIG barn dogs that we needed to care for right away, in our little suburban home LOL. She had 5 vehicles, 2 Kubotas and 3 buildings filled with antiques and junk. All I can say is I am so glad that my hubby and I are retired because this has been a full time job. I am also glad that I have an easy reef that is forgiving and am happy to report that it is still thriving! Since I rehomed the tomini peace and tranquility has once again become the norm and the 12 fish live in harmony. I am still manually removing a little gha but nothing too bad and there is always the clusters of bubble algae that need removed but neither are detracting from the beauty of the tank. Here is the latest FTS that I took Jan. 7th.

So sorry to hear about your mother Dawn. I lost my Aunt on thanksgiving 2 years ago and my mom (that aunt’s sister) 3 days later.

Thanks George. It was a shock, we were buying her birthday cake to celebrate her 87th birthday and when we got home from that we got the call that she was being taken to the hospital. For her sake I am glad that it was not a long convalesance. She was very independent and would not want it any other way.
I am sorry for you that you had to suffer a double loss 2 years ago!

I’m the same way, as were my mom and Aunt. Very independent. They called themselves the Sinister Sisters in their Airstream camping group. We kids think they planned to go so close together so, that’s some comfort.
