I am about to start putting together my canopy tonight. I was going to do a simple box frame on the bottom with a 14 inch post in each corner and then have an other box frame on top. Being that it is 6 feet long I was going to do 2 supports going from the front to the back to support the weight of the 3/4 plywood.
I was originally just going to make the front face detachable and have it snap in with magnets to hold it in place, but then I started thinking...and that doesn't seem like the best idea. I'm going to have to open this thing up once or twice a day to feed everyone and I really don't want to be doing that.
My new thought is to have the front open 90 degrees and have the hinge on the top side of the canopy (so it opens up). My only issue is I don't want to see it from the outside, so it needs to be concealed. Does anyone know of a hinge that will work for this application? I am framing this with 1x2 pine...
