Hey all,
I have a problem with my Hippo Tang that hopefully someone can help me with. He is having problems swimming normally and if he tries to, he floats to the top of the tank. Because of this, he has wedged himself under the rocks so he won't float around. He won't come out to eat (he is normally a hoover around any food) since he can't swim right. I'm wondering if it is some sort of swim bladder/stomach problem, but I don't know.
Tank parameters are stable - temp 79, salinity 1.024, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrates 0. This system has been up and running for about 5-6 years, so it's not a new tank problem. I have also had the tang for the same amount of time, so he didn't just come from the LFS or anything like that. Tank mates are 2 ocellaris clowns that seem to be fine. No new fish or coral additions in the last 3 months either.
If anyone could help me out or recommend any treatments, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
