I can not see what you are talking about in the pictures. Fin errosion could be attributed to the poor water quality and lack of proper nutrition.

White spots I really cant see in the picture. Have you introduced anything new to the tank that could have introduced ich?

Is the fish eating normal?

Is the fish flashing on the rock?

Faster then normal breathing rate?

to me it looks like HLLE and good water quality and feeding a varied diet is about all you can do..it may repair the damage but it may also stay that way..

There are only a couple of the white spots the fish is eating normal like it always has. By flashing do you mean rubbing it self on the rocks? if so yes it does it on its side and on where its gill is.. It does have a faster breathing rate my water quality sufferd while i was away for work so far everthing has been back in check

Have you recently added a fish or anything that could have brought ich in the tank? Flashing is a sign of ich but some tangs just do it for the heck of it. I would not worry about a couple spots... possible it could be sand?????

Usually when a fish has ich you will see more than a couple spots.

I would keep your water quality in check and soak the food in a vitamin supplement. If it is ich it will worsen in a few days or it might not if your lucky.

I added a lawnmower blenny a couple days ago but he looks fine.. the hippo tang has had ich in the past these spots are larger if you look at the third pic you can see half way down his back by his top fin there is one spot and there is one on his tail and that hole in his face is odd

Well if you feel it is ich you have 3 options....

1.) feed vitamin soaked food and hope he can fight it off
2.) Remove all your fish from the display and leave it fallow for 12 weeks treating the fish in copper in a treatment tank
3.) Remove all fish leaving the tank fallow for 12 weeks treating the fish in a treatment tank with Hypo salinity..

I prefer #2....

fallow for 12 weeks??? where did you get this information?? 8 weeks is stated to be the guild line to run a tank fallow.and i agree hyposalinity is the best treatment, and treat this fish with maracyne two for saltwater for the fin rot.

The longer the better......Expirience told me that I have had to tear down my 300 twice now because of some issues I had. The longer the better......

Hypo salinity is not the best. It might be the easiest on the fish but not the best. If you are not changing water out almost daily expect to have problems with water quality. Use Cupramine in a treatment tank and take it slow getting it tot he proper level.

I put a hospital tank together but its still cycling, for the most part he seams to bee doing better he still looks all messed up but is acting normal... Thanks for your help.

Good Luck. Get some bacteria in a bottle. It will help push it along.

Use an aquarium which is not les than 75 gallons... water quality must be high and clear.. make O2 levels high..... food types include fresh algae, zucchini & broccoli and food rich in vit C... PH value vary from 8.1 - 8.4
