Hippo Tangs

Quick question for anyone who actually has had a Hippo Tang and has had to add Cupramine for Ich. Do they not handle copper well ? The other Fish in QT came around but the Tang who was doing Great is not doing great since copper. Tang is incredibly small. About the size of a Quarter.

I've successfully treated multiple hippos with Cupramine. But I ignored the directions of raising the Cu over 48 hrs, and did it over 4-5 days instead. Smaller specimens of any species do seem more sensitive to Cu IME.

Cupramine aside, tiny hippos aren't the most robust of fish and have pretty high mortality rate.

My little hippo was qt in copper and did just fine

Make sure u feed alot I've read the little ones need lots of little feeding thoughout the day

i also have had success with baby hippos and cupramine, i think dosing very slowly is the key. I've noticed that fish who are already weak and covered with ich will succumb to their ills almost instantly if you dose copper too quickly.
