hippopus Clams

First let me state that I am very very new to marine aquaria and I appologize for any newb questions. I am interested in keeping a few clams when my new 180 is stable enough to do so. My question is what is everyones opinion on Hippopus clams. I have only ever seen one locally it was gold with tan lines. Are these a fairly common type clam? Common coloration? Good clam for a newbie? Thanks for humoring me.

I have only seen like 6 hippopus clams for sale, they aren't very readily available. I have never had one, and I have only found a handful of people who had them.

they are pretty rare in the trade, normally have brownish and greenish colour. I used to have one

Heres a pic of the one I saw. They want in the 100-150 range for it. Its around 6-8" I would say
