i discovered a fuzzy red thing burrowing on the base of my xenia. Im not sure exactly what it is but every time my clown swims past it, it shoots back into the xenia. my xenia was the first coral i had and its been over 2 months since i had it and it seems to be doing well. is there some kind of dip i can do to get rid of it? should i even do a dip? please help!!

no hard tube. when it hides itself there is a small hole in the xenia's foot, just incase it is something unwanted, is there some kind of dip i can do to get it out?

You see the hard white thing to the left and kind of under it? That's its tube. Definitely a featherduster.

I love the little feather duster worms... I have several on different chunks of rock. To set your mind at ease, they are not hurting your coral in any way - the "hole" you see is the entrance to its tube, which the foot of the coral may have grown over/around.
