Yeah, didnt know it was possible! LOL!! I have what looks like a bi color blenny that i just noticed! I dont think its a bi color blenny though.. He doesnt have the two little whiskers on his head.. His tail is also not a fin. It looks more like an eels tail! His head and most of his body is black\purple, and his tail section is yellow. Are there any other fish that look like Bi color Blennys? I got a picture of him, but its not the best quality.. Ill try to get a better one, all he does is poke his head of a crevice of LR..

thats exactly what im saying! He looks more like a tadpole!

That is one cool looking fish! He looks like one of those Caribbean pearly jawfish, cept with different colors. You need to find out what that is.

question:

Is his mouth fixed (i.e. very small and no apparent jaw)?

If so, then you have a livebearing brotula, *definately* an extremely rare fish in captivity!

yeah, he has a very small mouth! He loves mysis!! LOL.. I hope hes reef safe, so far hes having a blast in my tank and gets along great with his tankmates! I wish i could get a better picture.. My camera sucks for closeups, even though its a 4.0 megapixle. This is exciting, i wish i knew exactly what he was! Ill keep looking for info!!

Search fishbase. org for blennies - he appears to have a single long dorsal, so in that case he's not a goby.

Better pics would help.

Hey Brotula's are pretty neat looking fish. Although from what I've heard they are nocturnal and rarely if ever seen during the day time. This guy seems to like to swim around alot.

I did a search and i never found a brotula with those colors. It looks alot like them though. Hmm, i cant wait to find out what it is.

My friends that is an Enchelyurus Flavipes- dubbed the Goldentail Blenny.

It's a comb tooth variety of the blenny currently being bred by a place called Proaquatix- http://www.proaquatix.com/

A couple of them showed up locally, and I almost bought one. Cute little bugger, but I already have my heart set on a Midas. Cheers!
