yeah harmless little guy (did you pull him out of a rock? All mine that color are orangey/brown/orangey sort of like a messed up oreo) if you want scary check out the photo I posted earlier of the giant purple/blue one in my tank LOL

Regular bristle worm. Quite a few of them in my tank, they keep the rock absolutely pristine. They won't hurt or eat anything in your tank unless it's already dead, and they keep things clean. They're light-averse, so if your lights are on and bright you probably won't see them. They'll also eat Formula 1 food pellets, after I set up the tank and cycled for 3 weeks or so I tossed in a few pellets and they all poured out of the rocks for it, they'd been starving for a while. They came out in full daylight, so I knew they were hungry. If you see any more, don't flush them. Just don't touch them without gloves, the bristles will irritate the skin.

I agree with Sk8r, I would not pull that guy out of my tank. Where did bristle worms get such a bad rap anyway. I have never had a problem in my SPS dominated tank, and have tons of bristles, and big ones too........

If you found one you likely have lots more. Take a look in your tank with a flashlight after the lights have been out for a while. They are partly why live rock is called live. Don't freak if you see more :) they are good for the tank.

Yep, guess what!

Found another one. Gotta love QT tanks! :)

I am not sure yet if I want this in my tank.

dude listen to the advice! they are harmless beneficial scavengers! not bad at all unless your tank begins to crap out the will explode in pop. and feed on the excess nutrients and then become epidemic and thus an issue. if you want get a six line wrasse or a coral bandid shrimp as they will eat them but youll always have a few and thats good.

Mine ate a huge piece of flake in my 5 gal experiment tank. Sucked it back. WOW.

I hate to say it but you will not get rid of bristle worms. They are in your live rock right now. :) But they are good scavengers.
