Hlle?

Brisbane Lion

Hi guys

Could anyone identify what is wrong with my Bluefaced Angel please? Has been in QT for about 4 weeks. I think it developed Velvet disease and at the same time began to exhibit as in the pics. Developed very quickly, within the last 6 days. Became very ill and was sure it would not survive. Out of desperation I did a fresh water dip, 100% water change and repeated dosing with Cupramine. Fish has improved dramatically, is swimming around and even eating. Any ideas please?

If it was velvet he would either be dead by now or he is immune.
Could be HLLE.
Did you use activated carbon on that tank or during the preparation of the water?

Against velvet Chloroquine Phosphate is a better choice than copper. Only pipefish, seahorses and wrasses can't be treated with it - it seems to be toxic to them.
