HM height

what is the recogmended height of SE MH lights in a retro canapy off the surface of a tank?
how about DE MH lights in a fixture?
i will be using 250w and most likley SE bulbs....your thoughts please....

I think my lights are about 10 inches from the water's surface.

Mine is about 9 inches off the water. Mine is a pendant so it doesn't cause any heat problems.
