Hole in 6100 Stream

Hello,

I just bought a used Tunze 6100 and while I was taking it apart for cleaning, found a hole about 1/4" in diameter on the motor body.

Does this effect the operation of the unit? I do not want to power anything up until I know for sure. If not, would filling the hole with epoxy be a good idea to keep water and critters out?

The pumps normally have three holes, two round ones on the back and one tear drop shaped one under the front cover.

All the gunk that was by the teardrop hole made it look like it was a crack.
