Hole in head disease?

My kole tang has developed a black spot on his forehead just forward of his dorsal fin. It has progressed rapidly in the last few days. I've had the fish for about 3 months with no problems, was healthy when I got him.

It looks like it might be hole in the head disease?

What should I do?

Well a black spot doesn't sound like hole in head, but if it is an actual hole, than it probably is, but if not, it might just be an infected wound or something

That could be a symptom of lateral line disease as my chevron got it too. The solution was feeding flakes and add vitamins (specially vitamin C) to the feeding nori. It took about a month and a half to heal. I also added some garlic concentrate to the nori.
For flakes I used formula 1 and prime reef from Ocean Nutrition, Kent for garlic and Boyds Vitachem for vitamins.

Try feeding a variety. Flake, pellets, frozen food. If you can, soak it in Selcon and vitamin C. Some garlic is good too. It'll take a couple months possibly to heal it. When my blonde naso got it, it wasn't a very large hole, but even so, it took a long time. He still has a scar from it though.

I used Boyd vitachem and ite seems to help but adding a capfull per week kind of makes my water looks cloudy. But it does help and it takes awhile for it to heal.

Rather than adding it to the water, add several drops to the feeding nori and let the nori absorb it, then fold it and put it in a clip. The fish will get more of the vitamin this way and you will not cloud your water.
