I have a Derasa (about 3 lbs) that has a hole in the shell about 1/8 to 1/4 inch in diameter. Is this something I need to worry about or "patch". If I need to fill it, what is the best way.

Thanks,
Mike

I think people might be able to help you better if you give more details about the situation. How long have you had the clam? Did the clam have the hole when you got it or did the hole just suddenly appear? Does the clam look happy otherwise?

I believe there is a snails that bores through the shell and is harmful to the clam but I don't really know much about it.

yes there are a number of predators that can bore into shells. Boring sponges come to mind, but I am pretty sure there is a worm too. Please give more information as LauraBay suggested.
