Hole size and tubing questions

2 Questions:

1) I've just drilled my tank with a 60mm hole (piping is therefore 50mm). What size return pump should I use if I plan on having all of my circulation in my tank just from the return pump?

2) I see in alot of pictures people having that bendable black tubing. What is it called and where can I get it from?

The bendable black tubing is Loc Line. You can get it from quite a few vendors, click on the sponsor link at the top of each forum and search thru the sponsors for it.

Not sure I understand your first question. This link may help you figure out how much water can pass thru your drain, then match that up with a pump.

As for the hole size, I don't really understand that link

I have a 60mm hole in my tank (with overflow box and 50mm piping). So what size return pump would i need in my sump to make use of this size hole? As in, 5000Lph, 6000Lph, 4000Lph etc etc

I'm thinking of a 5000Lph return pump right now, just wondering if that is too strong/weak for the size hole I have.

My conversions skills aren't working (still aren't) but you have roughly a 2 inch drain pipe that can handle about 2200 GPH if all things are perfect, so anything under that will work. I think if you keep it under 1000 GPH (3500/4000 Lph) you'll be happier, as there won't be as much noise, and you shouldn't have any bubble problems in your sump. I hope my conversion is correct!

The other part of the link I gave you was the length of overflow needed to pass that much water, it's usually a limiting factor with large drains.
