Holiday party?

Hello Wine Country Reefers!

Historically this is the time we would be planning our annual Holiday Party, typically happening the first weekend after New Years. :celeb1: :celeb3: :celeb2:

However, this year we have experienced a tremendous downturn in meeting attendance. While there was some call for our last meeting, few members actually showed up.

That feels like :headwally:

I would enjoy getting together, talking about our tanks, eating some grub, maybe a drink or two and winning a frag from the raffle. But if the interest is not there as a group, it doesn't make sense.

Could you please speak up if you think we should have our Holiday Party and will actually attend?

Cheers

Well guys it's been almost 3 weeks since I posted this thread, and based on the number of positive responses, our Board of Directors has decided there will not be a holiday party this year.

I am liking and encouraged by the strong support amongst the usual 5 or 6 guys who tend to show up at generally all the meetings. However, the low overall number of replies doesn't justify the energy and expense necessary to make it happen.

In my years with the club, membership has varied between 5 and 35. When we have around 20 members, it works well, as raffle ticket purchases allow for good and self perpetuating raffles with lots of frag donations and yummy pot luck fare. Plus tons of enthusiasm, sharing and posting between meetings. Companies are more likely to do demonstrations and donate product when attendance is high. When active membership dwindles, as it has currently, the club doesn't function well.
