Holy &%*$ - WS ticket prices....

Um, so hubby and I went to Game 3 of the Cards/Red Sox WS. Those tickets, IIRC, were ~$100 each.

I just found out that a friend has 2 tix for Game 4 of this WS. So I'm thinking...
:celeb1:

Then I hear the price - $250!!! Per ticket!! That is face value.
:blown:

I don't know if we can NOT go. But HOLY @#$&@$*#... It is definitely making us stop and think about it - especially after the miserable experience we had at the last WS game we attended.

But this is face value - that is what blows me away. They charge it because they know people will pay it. Outrageous! (Fishes out wallet.)

These are in section 253 - slightly to the 3rd base side of home plate, middle level. They are in the "Redbird Club"... Does that mean free food? NO - it just means you have access to an indoor area with heat, couches, TVs (in case you paid $250 to watch it on TV), and concession stands where you can buy your $11 beer in a short line rather than a long line.

Well, that makes perfect sense.

Supply and Demand?

Wouldn't you charge somebody $250 if you KNEW you could sell it. Or would you charge $50 because it seems more affordable?

That's nothin, the cheapest price for tickets to Monday Night Football when the Bears come to St Louis jumped from $150 to $330 overnight after that huge come back win last week.

Those are actually better prices than what I have seen at a few other outlets. I got two different friends who paid north of $600, one bought 10 for his family:0

That would be a pretty nice reef tank and a big screen to watch it from home! :eek1:

We are all going to Kurt's house?!?

Wow, that is insane. I have a friend who works at the stadium, and they get paid a decent amount during the refular season. Playoffs, employees make double and in the WS they make triple. So say you make $11 bucks. Playoffs you make $22 and WS you make $33 an hour! So, at least the ticket money goes somewhere other than the CEOs pockets.

Um, that adds up, to, um... *counts on fingers*... Yeah, season tickets for all next year.

These tix are here:

We've sat there before, and IIRC they are covered, which is good since it's looking like rain Wednesday night. We decided we can't pass it up & we're gonna take 'em... an early Merry Christmas to us. :p

I think we will go in as early as the stadium opens and stay there until they kick us out, to spend as much quality time as possible with our $250 red plastic chairs.

That is good to know... although I believe concessions prices also rise with each round of playoffs!

St. Louis has some of the greediest owners in baseball.
Cant afford to pay Grudzy 2 mil a year?! yea right.
St. Louis discount when signing players?
They are cheapskates.

Yep, exactly what I told my wife.

So I just got off the phone with my dad, and he and my mom are going to the game tonight. He gets free tickets for Cardinals and Rams(box seat season tickets free) for advertising with Charter, and of course other local companies he works with that hook him up. Too bad I can't go.
