do you guys have any recipes for home made fish food.

I was thinking got to the fish department and pick some up and make some up any ideas would be great. I know a combination of stuff like raw shrimp (with shells) and should i mix up some vegies with it if so what kind.

oh you guys will get a kick out of this... I asked the LFS if they had any recipes and some ?'s about it and he said i was crazy to make it my self and sould get there food only so needless to say i just smiled and walked out.

in the conscientious marine aquarist, and corals by eric borneman, there are recipe! i have tried both and my fish have ate them both, as well as fellow aquarists that i have given some of the food to. i dont have sps, so i feed my lps (brain, trumpet) at night and they both accept it. hope that helps!

50% Raw:
Shrimp (w/ or without shells and head)
White fish
Mussles/clams
Scallops

50% processed:
Pellets
Cyclopeeze (frozen)
Formula 2 flakes
Crushed Nori

and a little kick...
a few cloves of garlic

If you live near some asian markets, I'd also add in the following:
Uni
whole raw squid
whole small fish (1-2in long)

Just try to get stuff w/ no added preservatives and stuff
The key is variety though. Oh, I hear you shoudl stay away from oysters though. Something about viruses.

Check out the podcast at www.reefcast.com. Melev and Quiksilver have about a 45 minute video on making your own fish food. This is episode 5 and is on the home page. The video is great and easy for a beginner to follow.
