Home made GFO reactor

Hello everyone, new member to the forum but I've been using the page as a resource for the past few months. I just recently got back into the hobby seriously recently even though my tank has been set up with 1 maroon clown for the past 10 years (big crash 5 years ago had me discouraged he was the sole survivor). Anyway I wanted to share my homemade reactor I just finished this morning for your opinions/criticism etc. I made it for nothing as I have a judge stock of misc plumbing parts on hand (I know to purchase the stuff I would've spent more then a manufactured piece). I'm going to try to upload a video of the fluid motion, I'm not quite sure how to do it yet, if it's possible on this forum.

Thanks everyone
Sean

Your picture doesn't seem to be showing up in your post. I tried to add the IMG link to my reply but that didn't embed the picture either. I suspect that is because the photo host is not linking to a JPG but instead an HTML page.

Anyhow, it looks good to me. Just make sure you have enough flow to maintain a very slight tumble at the surface so that the GFO doesn't solidify and not too much flow so that you don't grind it up and turn it to dust. I'd also add a foam filter to the top so that GFO particles cant escape the reactor.

Here is a link for others to check it out.

Some use Flickr. Photobucket will only work if you are paying for their photo hosting. It costs about $99 a year for their new service that allows photos to be shared in IMG form on websites.

I fixed your links above but as you can see, you’re photos won’t show since you are using their free hosting.
