home made refrag

I know there was a couple of threads on here about people using regular hangon filters as refags.. but i never heard any outcome of them.. has anyone had any success with them? I am thinking about doing it on my 30 gal.. to get rid of the heater and such. If anyone does tell me what all you did to make it work.. if possible show pics

I have my doubts about most Hang on Filters(like a whisper power filter, I'm guessing you mean) being large enough to support an appropriate Refugium population.

Personally, I would want at least a 10 gal Fuge for a 30 gal tank with a several inch deep sandbed, and a fair amount of live rock and cheato.
