i am setting up a tank for incoming fish, and a place to keep sick fish. just wondering if any one has any guidance fir me.
right now i have a 30 gallon tall tank, and a 40 gallon hang on wisper filter. should i add LR to this system?

You can add a few pieces of LR to cycle this tank only. Generally, HTs should remain without substrate and LR since these things will absorb any meds that you may use in the HT.

Once you decide to add fish, and the tank is cycled, the LR should not reamin. If LR is exposed to diseased fish or meds, it should never be placed in your display tank.
