Host for Clarkis

Picked up a mated pair of clarkis today at lfs for 25 bucks (some guy donated them), and I am looking to get a nem. I have kept plenty of nems before but never had clarkis. I have seen they prefer LTA's or sebaes. I do no have a sandbed, so I am assuming the sebae would be better?

Clarkii clowns have the largest natural range of all of the clownfish and they should be able to take to any variety of clown hosting anemone.

I would go for BTA. If you have never kept one they are hands down the easiest to keep.

Keep in mind how large these fish get and 24 will be on the small side for full grown clarkii's.

A sebae wouldn't work either, since they prefer a sandbed too.

As James stated a BTA would be your best bet. And I agree about a 24 being on the small side, really don't think you would be able to keep any other fish in there. In a smaller tank a mated pair of Clarkiis can/will be more aggressive.

I have other tanks sitting around that I am waiting to set up. They are already pretty big so I know that they need to be moved. I have kept BTA before and I would go that route but I just cant find one around here that looks healthy and is larger than 2 or 3 inches across.

I have two clarkii's hosting a BTA, They are about 3" & 2 1/2".
Picked up the bta from piece-of-the-reef, nice size (larger than my hand)and color. it's tan to white with pink tips....almost see-thru at times.

here they are "just lovin it"
