Hosting success story for Ocs. owners

I came home from work tonight, and I'd thought I'd try out the "light the BTA at night" theory on getting my false percs to host, and well, it worked!

The BTA has only been in the tank for about 4 days, and the pair hadn't given it a second look. So tonight, I turned off the moon lights that have been on every single night the clownfish had been in my tank -- they kind of freaked when it went dark.

So, I shined a little LED light directly on the BTA, and my female came directly over and began acting curious for the very first time that I have seen. She went in and out a few times, all while the male was off frantically trying to find her.

When they finally met up, they nuzzled each other for a little while -- I still had the light on the BTA -- and then I turned off the light to make it pitch black for about 30 seconds.

When I shined the light back on, they were both in and getting comfortable -- for some reason my BTA opens way up at night.

This all happened in a matter of about 15 minutes.

Anyway, I just wanted to share my method, because there's so many on here wanting to know "the trick."

I still have a long way to go to take care of this new family properly, but this was a major step.

I'll try and get pics up soon.

Thanks!

Here's my lame attempt at a photo. My wife's the pro, but she's at work. I even forgot to use flash! Oh well.

The BTA just ate -- the female fed it some of her Mysis -- so it's still coming back out.

I just left them be. I think it took them a month, but they've been together for over 2 years.
