HOT skimmer for 55 gallon $250 range

I'm looking for a HOT skimmer for my 55 gallon in the $250 range. I've seen Aqua C Remora's aren't that great (the one I planned on getting), CSS 125 are junk, pretty much everything is junk.
What do I get? It must be HOT, no room for a sump.
I plan on a reef set up with just shrooms and zoos. I have 20 lbs of rock already and plan on getting 35 lbs more.

second the rogue if you are spending around $250. If you are just going to keep shrooms and zoanthids get a D&D marine typhoon for around $80 and a small air-pump (whisper 60) that would be more than enough for your 55. If you do get it be sure to order (must email or call D&D) the anti-siphon kit and silencer from D&D marine. Don't get me wrong, the rogue wave is MUCH better than the typhoon, but for a 55 with shrooms and zoas you really don't need it.

I just hook the airpump up to the skimmer intake for extra air, forced air if you will. It really works, and does not cost much. You do not need it by any means, it just makes it work better. You do need the anti-siphon kit and you might as well get the silencer too, they are free:)

the bermuda rouge is virtually untested and kodyboy has never used one....

i think you should get the deltec mce 300 or 600 i use it myself and it really works.

I second one of the Deltec's. GSMguy has an awesome tank (I think it's a 50G) with the Deltec MCE300. Check out the Deltec forum for the review.

I have seen the older version of the rogue wave in action and it was FAR better than the massively overpriced deltecs. If you really want a deltec mce 300 or 600 keep watching the used equipment forum, they show up all the time and are much cheaper there. If the mce600 was $200 I could see its value, at $500 I can not.
Check out the bermuda rogue wave http://www.bermudaaquatics.com/rogue.htm
and see for yourself, then check out the deltec mce300 and 600
http://www.deltecusa.us/proteinskimmers/mce600.php, or better yet do a search here and see what you find. The best bet is to see the skimmer in action, but neither one is really all that easy to find.
There should be some rogue wave reviews on RC soon so compare then.
If you can wait the aquamedic turboflotor blue is coming out and that looks promising.
