HOT skimmer recommendation please

Hi,

I currently have a small tank and plan to upgrade to a 37g cube eventually and I want a skimmer that can hang in the tank. I am dreadfully worried about overflows and thus was recommended the Tunze in-tank skimmer to hopegully get rid of this problem.

I'm also looking for the smallest in-tank frootprint for this skimmer. So which would you recommend?

Thanks for the quick response Roger. I found the 9002 on the tunze site, and it looks great. And the price - wow. I honestly was expecting more $$. And to think I was considering the Deltac MCE600.

Are you fairly certain on the "few more weeks" time frame? Also, I think the 9002's size does work well with the small tanks. But if I wanted to look into the next size up skimmer - just to give me some more room for any upgrade. Would that be the 9005? The dimensions of the 9002 and 9005 are actually pretty close, except for about 3 inches in width.

I have learned that with German companies no time frame is ever certain. I have begged and begged. (Strange for such a punctual culture but believe me, it happens with Eheim and it happens with Mercedes and BMW, usually because something isn't perfect yet and they want to change something) I was told I would have the Nano Reef pack 200 in a few weeks for sure- 60 bodies are already in inventory awaiting final assembly. I would honestly recommend this more than the 9005 as you don't need the 9005 and the additive benefit of carbon and phosphate remover from the piggy backed mechanical filter would be hard to beat. If you can't wait, Premium may have the 9005 in stock but I am out. I was promised a big shipment of skimmers next week though.

Cool, I'm excited. I'll wait for the 9002.

One more - do you have the model number for the "Reef Pack 200" or the piggy backed meachanical filter? Or are those the same thing? If I understood you correctly, you'd recommend this 9002 and the filter for the best system. If I'm going for the 9002, I might as well order any recommended accessories at the same time.

0200.000- it is a 9002 plus a mehanical filter and a magnet holder for about $50 more than just the skimmer.

I also wanted to ask - why is there not more conversation about this new skimmer? I was finally able to do a search this am and found just 2-3 conversations on it. I figured there would be more.... just curious.

The response has been tremendous, I was told worldwide 500 have been ordered, in one day this week I received orders for 22 skimmers. I think they are just too new for their to be a lot of feedback on them yet. As of this week 36 have come into the US, 16 just shipped Tuesday. That definitely limits the reference base but I have 30 more coming next week and I think you will see more discussion as more people get them.
