Hot tamales

Hello all,

I was making an order from Vivid, and I figured I'd pick up some nice zoas while I was at it. At the moment I'm a little more focused on getting SPS, but I wanted to pick up a frag of something that was a little nicer then what I can find locally.

I settled on a small frag of Hot Tamale zoos.

Just curious if these are something that Vivid named, or if they're widely known as Hot Tamales? I couldn't find much info out there on them. I'm also curious if anybody has any experience with them? Fast growers? Light hungry or no? That kind of stuff.

I think they named that for their site and their id. It's named as other things, I wouldn't doubt those are called by another name somewhere else. They're nice bright polyps though.

That's kind of what I figured. No big deal to me, I've never been too big on having the super limited, extra secret, rarest of the rare, crazy named corals of the trade. They looked nice, so I picked them up.

They look some-what like the AOG's. Minus the mouth area.


I just picked up a 10 polyp AOG frag.

It's taken them 3 full days to open up. I suppose in another 3 days they'll be looking like they were under his MH lights. They're about 80% open as we speak. Just a beautiful piece, IMO.
