House remodel incoming

Here is my situation.
Full kitchen dining living room remodel. I have 120gal tank on stand with hood and sump. I need to move the tank to do the work. I can move it downstairs into my workshop. Pumping water into fresh bags inside garbage cans moving fish into a few buckets same with rocks and corals move all down stairs pump water from cans back into tank cycle for couple hours then put fish back in.
Does anyone have any suggestions or problems that you see in this or things I can do better?

There is no need to plan on a cycle..
A cycle will not happen..
I would actually suggest replacing the sand with all new rinsed DRY sand but other than that your plan seems fine..

Reason for sand change? Mine is full of star fish and snails...

Just a "fresh start"... You may be amazed at the amount of "crap" down in the sandbed

I agree with mcgyvr. At the very least, I would suggest rinsing it well. If you use old tank water to do it, the beneficial organisms will be just fine. You can then make up for the lost water with freshly made saltwater and give the tank a large water change in the process.
