How are the frags from NCPARS FREE FRAG GIVEAWAY?

I wanted to check with all those who recieved those free frags. How are they? Can we get some pics of them as they grow? Keep us all updated on their progress. It will be nice to see that NCPARS has made a difference and help keep the hobby going in the right direction. I hope all made it and are doing fine. Please let us know.

My blue one that we fragged at the very end is doing good. The frogspawn is doing good too. I thought I took a purple at the end too, but maybe not...it's hard to tell.. I have 30 frags brewing in my sump right now and I was not in the mood to sort out what was what at the time...mount and move, mount and move.

All the frags that I got are doing great. Bill and I put them in late Sat night and they had the polyps extended in the bags, and again right after they were glued in.

Ricky, you will have to share with me where you got these from.

No problem, you busy later in the week, I am actually up for a drive to PSU if you would like to chat. I know how busy you are so I don't expect you to be around all the time. Just if you have some time and want to frag some more of that hub tank up for me, I am up for the drive. LOL My acro frags from the Hub did not make it, and I think it is because the air in the bags deflated out on the drive home. But yes I am willing to talk about the source of these acros.

Huh, too bad those HUB frags didn't make it. We had fragged them the night before, so maybe it was just too much in and out. The elegance we traded for has peeked out in my tank, but isn't out as much as I expected. I'm just leaving it alone for now.

Mal had one of my Bali slimer frags die, if that happens to anyone else let me know and I'll replace it next swap.

Not your fault Scott, the bags just deflated and they suffocated in there. I had alot of frags in my box so it might have been the pressure from the surrounding bags that made the air come out. I really am not sure what happened to them, but it happens dude, I don't particularly like it when something dies on me, but it is a fact of life that we all face from time to time. It OK I am not worried about it, not a biggie, plus I know where they came from and how much more there is where it came from, LOL. Glad to hear the elegance has opened a little for ya. I hope it gets happy for you, because I know it didnt like me!

I don't know what the cost of the box of corals we got was, or how many ended up being premium corals vs. just ordinary, but given that these turned out well, I wonder if we should think about buying a box sometime as a club activity if Rick is willing. Sort of a "group buy and frag." Everyone kicks in $20 or $40 or whatever, we get a box of corals and split them up. Maybe in conjunction with some other get together. Rick, I know this purchase for NCPARS was last minute and maybe unique, but is it possible for you to just order a box for some event like that?

LOL, Scott suggestion thread, ok, but I think I can answer this without RC having a fit. I would be willing to help the club with events. Don't forget I did not make a dime or a penny on this order. Sure no problem, we will have to talk about it as an idea for the next get together. Isn't there a picnic at someones house coming up or something? If not, I am sure that my place is big enough for a get together. My yard is 25X75 feet, but I do not live in the best neighborhood, but of course we would have Rahn there to protect us If not we can bug someone else to have a picnic or something.

For someday, maybe... I actually don't know how many people would be interested, but it seems like there was a lot of interest in seeing what came in and in doing the fragging. Good to know it might possibly work.

We can plan a picnic as a summer event. We had tried one before, but we only had about 10 people show up. I think having a frag trade or group buy deal will help turnout. Location is the problem. Where to have it? Everyone has a long drive and many feel the drive is not worth it. Lets get some feed back on it from others.

The other problem is getting people to pay. You get people who back out last minute or don't make the picnic, etc. and then somebody is left holding the bag (quite literaly).

True Kevin. Maybe pre-payment? I haven't thought through all the logistics, it just seemed maybe interesting. If a shipped box was $400, then 10 people at $40 might be do-able and it might not be impossible to coordinate.

I like the idea of a summer picnic, frag trade, group buy pick-up.

If it were to be just a picnic and prearranged trades it would be easy enough to have it at a park with public grills. I haven't checked the costs in awhile but it used to be like $25 for the day.

Another possibility would be to have a couple of get togethers over the summer in differant area's and on differant dates. If the drive is an issue it could be worked out that the get togethers could be scattered across the state. With multiple get togethers if you can't make one you could always to try to make the next one.

If people wanted to get together I have no problem offering my place. Not a ton of room outside but the inside would hold a fair amount of people.
