Well, in the last month, ive really gotten serious about my water quality in my reef. so i bought a few test kits and came with these results

Ph 8.0 - haven't tested in a while - buffing
Cal 350 - I've read thats good
dKH - 12.8
Alk - 4.57
nitrates - 0
nitrites - 0
ammonia - 0
gravity - 1.024 - could be better
temp - usually around 79-81

i have no idea what a good alk or dKH levels are or how to buff them???

I can't seem to get good colors out of a lot of my corals, any suggestions???

btw - i just started to dose magnesium and strontium once every 2 weeks, but i need to get a test to see what those levels are.

any advice is helpful

So my Alk and dKh is high--- i read the article and though helpful, couldn't find any information about lowering it - just raising it

anyone know how i could lower it?

Dkh is just a measure for alkalinity, btw. :) Same with meq/l. Stop dosing any alk buffers/suppliments and let it fall on its own. What are you dosing currently?
