How bad a problem is this?

In the process of removing my LED lights from my canopy, I had a stainless steel lock washer fall behind my rock work. What problems can this cause since I can't get to it without tearing down the rock?

Don't know the answer but I have at least one stainless steel washer n my tank. So looking forward to hearing your answer.

You should not have any problems at all. If you think about it any screws used on mag pumps and other submerged equipment is stainless also and it stays in the all of the time. Even the shafts on most power heads are stainless.

don't think it will be a problem unless somebody tries to eat it

you wouldn't want to aquascape with stainless, but one washer shouldn't be a problem.

Agreed, its not a problem.
You want to try and find it if you can, but if you cant, its really not a problem.

FWIW, rust is insoluble, and leaches very little iron in to saltwater.

I have several screws in my overflows. lol no issues, unless Paul see's them then he'll give you heck for not digging them out! don't let him fool you. lol jk Paul

Thanks for the responses. I didn't even think about the fact that there are stainless parts in most pumps and powerheads. I'll be sure to take a pic if a goby comes out wearing a flashy necklace one day. ;)
