After reading some recent threads, I decided to take my magnifying glass to the LFS to search for "jewels". Felt weird pulling it out of my pocket but I enjoyed the new view of the zoatanks. Can you believe I was accused of being a tank nerd, the nerve.

I feel bad. I don't have one. Its not that I don't want one, but I always forget to buy one when I go to any store.

I tried to make up for not having a lens by putting my face very close to the glass and get weird looks. I think I would look less creepy if I held a lens.

I'm still pretty young, so if I can't get a good view of it by just getting close to the glass, it won't be going in my aquarium.

I find them useful for looking at details of zoas (health, color, striation patterns, damage, etc.), looking for oddballs that might have potential, and.... for PESTS.

I use 2 different magnifying glasses.
One is a standard 4" and the other has 8 tiny led lights around the rim.
I didn't realize other people used them. I just figured that my old eyes needed help

my favorite mag glass is one of those 12"x6" ones that seniors use for reading the news paper. Plastic, can find them at the dollar store for 99 cents.
