how big to emeralds get?

First time I have really seen my emerald since he molted 2 days ago.. wow he is huge now. He is easily the biggest thing in my tank. I could almost searve him up with some butter and lemon..

how big do they get. He was the size of a dime about 1 month ago. of course he ate lots of bubble algae for me. lots..!!

they tend to grow to adults quickly. you probably have a male on top of that. my male is about 4" across from the tips of the claws. hes about 1 1/2 years old. he molted twice sence i have had him. and hasnt grown any in the past year or so.

any problems when they get big. Mine has been great. My shrimp walk right over the to of him and he doesn't care. Of course now he is the size of godzilla he might have a new attitude.

well, mine did kill the last female emerald in the tank. other than that hes been a good boy. i recommend feeding them to keep them from looking for a good meal. i feed mine some algae strip about every 2-3 days. just a small piece about 1x2" or so. so far its kept him happy.
