How Big???

Hello All,

I am moving in the next 2 months to my new house which is on a slab foundation. This may be a stupid question, but how big can I go for as tank size without being worried and having peace of mind while I am sleep or away from the house. Thanks for the advice.

Anything within the standard hobbyist tank sizes shouldn't be cause for concern. Up to 300g. Anything above that and I would start to look into someone coming and analyzing the slab.

no matter what she tells you bigger is better...oh...oh you meant fish tank? well...this is embarrasing. you should be able to put anything on a slab. its at least 6 inches and heavy machinery such as back hoes can routinely drive over 6 inch slabs

A quick Google search shows that a 6" slab foundation will have a MINMUM rating of 3000 PSI. A 300 gallon tank/stand/sump will weigh in somewhere around 4000 pounds. I wouldn't be worried.
