How can i catch a killer chromy?

How am a supposed to catch a devil chromy that tries to kill everything i put un the tank? Its damn near imp. I have a cut up soda bottle with brine shrimp in it and the bastard wonr go near it. Its damn fast too!

Chromis are fast, and territorial. They won't take kindly to attempts at removal.

I was catching a chromis out of a 10 gallon holding tank with half of the water siphoned out, it took me 45 minutes.

How big is your tank how much LR do you have? I know it is a pain in the but, tearing down your tank may be a last resort. I had 2 clown goby's in my 120 with 150 lbs of LR. Everything had to be removed to get those fish out.

This has got to be the strangest thread I've ever read. I've never heard of chromis' being aggressive/territorial or even mean. I'm actually at a loss for ideas on removal besides tearing down the tank in order to catch him.

i guess thats a last resort for me. My tank does not have that much live rock per se, just huge rocks which are pretty heavy. Ill try again, if not ill have to take them out. Actually i might try moving some stuff around to see if i can break his teritoriality.

I know this is wierd, i never expected my chromis to act like this.

i've seen people train the fish to eat from the net...they start to learn the net isnt a bad thing when it brings them food train um to do that, then be like yoink! SUCKA! ha!

would be my only suggestion.

What about trying him at night? Do you know where he sleeps? (lol) Try catching him while he's sleeping. If that doesnt work, put a (sea)Horse head in his bed. He'll get the message.

I tried this with an dwarf angel I had added. It was the only fish that wouldn't eat from the net...just my luck.

As far as my chromis. I got sick of them because they never came out in the open except to eat. They hid all the time. I thought that really odd. I finally realized I could catch them with the net as I added food to the tank. It was as if they were so focused on the new food they didn't notice I was dipping them out.

lol all good sugestions. I tried the thing with the food but the little guy is just too scared of the green net.

yeah they wont just come to it....you kind of have to do it slowly get the food closer and closer to the net or i dont know maybe just tape the net inside the tank leave it there.... they will get used to it?
