how can i tell if its aiptasia when its small

i got a xenia the otherday and i saw what i thought was an aiptasia. so i chiped off all of the rock but the very small areas the xenia was attached to.

today i saw a small polyp in the tank that wasnt there befor. i touched it and it didnt sting or anything. how can i tell if its aiptasia or a tiny xenia polyp .. btw im talking small like.... 1/16 inch

Does it contract back when you touch it, or does it look like the polyps close like a fist does when you touch it?

hmm good point.. aiptasia.... ill just put some underwater epoxy over it and seal taht sucker in ^^
