How clean is RO/DI waste water?

I've got mine plumbed to my pool - I've only had the house for a single summer but I didnt' have to add any additional water from the tap for evaporation. That said, it was a pretty rainy summer.

Anyone with a well just plumb it back down the well? That's what I would do.

I was thinking if you lived in the city, maybe you could put in a point well, feed your ro/di unit off of that, send the waste to the yard around the point which would resupply it and bam. Full circle. Would the ground filtration reduce the TDS or add to out you think? Of course not sure that would be a "legal" solution in the city due to permits and such. Def check with your local call before you dig group.

I wonder if the waste water could be used for a pond or perhaps freshwater tank. I know someone who has a 10,000gallon koi pond and is interested in alarge reef tank. Seemed kinda turned off when he found out how much water RODI wastes. Might still be interested i he can use the extra as topoff for the pond. Evaporation in the koi pond in the summer is easily 100+ gallons. I've seen him order a water truck because he ran out of water and had to top off the pond.
